Sesame is a flowering plant in the genus "Sesamum". Numerous wild relatives occur in Africa and a smaller number in India. It is widely naturalized in tropical regions around the world and is cultivated for its edible seeds, which grow in pods. Ethiopia is the world TOP 5 largest producer of this oil seed crop.

Peanuts are known by many other local names such as earthnuts, ground nuts, goober peas, monkey nuts, pygmy nuts and pig nuts.Despite its name and appearance, the peanut is not a nut, but rather a legume.

The chickpea (Cicer arietinum) is a legume of the family Fabaceae, subfamily Faboideae. Its seeds are high in protein. We offer the desi "kala chana" variety of chickpea which has a markedly higher fiber content than Kabulis and hence a very low glycemic index which may make them suitable for people with blood sugar problems.
